Applying for the Scholarship

Local high school seniors are eligible to apply for the scholarship.  Additional information and directions for completing the application can be obtained from your guidance counselor or by visiting American Legion's Unknown Soldier Post 137 in Darien, GA.

Selection Process

Our scholarship recipients are chosen through a rigorous process led by our Executive Committee. The selection involves a thorough review of applications and personal interviews to ensure that we award students who not only excel academically but also demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen fields and a connection to community values.

2023 Scholarship Presentation

In 2023, American Legion Post 137 proudly awarded $1,500 in scholarships to two outstanding students. These individuals are now on paths that are critical to our community's well-being—one is pursuing a degree in nursing, while the other is training in HVAC services. Their success stories are a testament to the impact of our scholarship program.
